The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America, is a federal republic composed of 50 states. Covering approximately 9.8 million square kilometers with over 325 million people, the United States is the world's third-largest country by total area and third-most populous nation. It is bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The United States also shares maritime borders with Russia and several other countries that do not appear in the current American Truck Simulator map.

18 Wheels of Steel series[]

The United States was first introduced in the 18 Wheels of Steel series, where the country is available as the mainland United States from coast to coast, allowing players to experience cross-country trucking.

The area around Thompson Falls, Montana, serves as the setting for one of the five specialized maps in 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2, showcasing challenging mountain terrain.

American Truck Simulator[]

The United States returns as the primary setting in American Truck Simulator, serving as the only playable country in the game. The nation is divided into individual states, though due to the game's 1:20 scale, only a portion of the states have been recreated.

Available states[]

Currently, eighteen states are available for play. Arizona, California, and Nevada are included in the base game, while all others are available as downloadable content:

  • State Routes - State-maintained roads serving local and regional traffic This highway system forms the backbone of American trucking operations depicted in the truck simulation games.
