U.S. Route 82 (US 82) is an east–west US highway in southern New Mexico and northern Texas in American Truck Simulator. It runs from US 54 and US 70 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Texarkana, Texas.
In real life, NM 18 branches off US 82 and runs to Hobbs while US 82 continues east to Texas.
Route Description[]
The route starts at US 54 and US 70 at Alamogordo in eastern New Mexico. It goes east and enters the town of Artesia, then Hobbs where it picks up concurrency with US 62 and goes into Texas. At Seminole, the route goes north, then starts to lean east and ends up in Lubbock. The concurrency with US 62 disappears around here, and US 82 goes east, passing through the town of Guthrie and ending up in Seymour. Here, it picks up a concurrency with US 277 and heads to Wichita Falls, where it drops US 277 off and heads toward Gainesville. The route ends here at I-35. The section between Alamogordo and Artesia runs through the Sacramento Mountains and is among the most scenic routes in the game. It passes landmarks such as Lincoln National Forest Tunnel Vista Observation Site, a tunnel through the mountains, and the town of High Rolls.
The section between Artesia and Hobbs runs through an oil field with many wells.
