U.S. Route 285 (US 285) is a north–south US Highway in central New Mexico and Colorado in American Truck Simulator. The route is separated into three sections: The first section runs from US 62 and US 180 in Carlsbad to US 54 and US 60 in Vaughn. The second section runs concurrent with US 84 from Interstate 25 in Santa Fe to north of Santa Fe. The third section runs from US 160 in Alamosa to Interstate 25 and SH 30 in Denver.

Course[]

US 285, in real life, begins in Sanderson, Texas, but in ATS the highway presently begins in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where it intersects with US 62. The 285 heads north along the Pecos River to Artesia, where it meets US 82, and Roswell, where it intersects with US 70 and 380. The 285 then proceeds across the plains to Vaughn, where it intersects with US 60 and 54. Here a gap in the 285 begins, the highway resuming for a short stretch through Santa Fe before starting another gap.

US 285 resumes in Alamosa, Colorado, and runs concurrent with US 160 across the San Luis Valley to Monte Vista. The 285 then runs north through the valley with the Garita Mountains to the west and the Sangre de Cristos to the east. At Saguache the highway begins running along the Sawatch Mountains to the west as the valley narrows, reaching its head at Poncha Pass. At Poncha Springs the highway intersects with US 50 and begins running along the Arkansas River, a concurrency that ends at Johnson Village, where US 24 is met. There the 285 turns east and traverses Trout Creek Pass (9487 ft) between the Mosquito Range to the north and the South Park Hills to the south. Over the summit, the highway enters South Park, a vast, highly-elevated plain bound by the Mosquito Range to the west, the Central Front Range to the north, and the Southern Front Range to the east and south. Here the highway passes through the town of Fairplay, and shortly afterward crosses the Southern Front Range via Kenosha Pass (10,000 ft). Here the highway widens to four lanes and winds down the mountains to Denver, and its northern terminus at Interstate 25.
