The landmarks of Tucumcari are the Blue Swallow Motel, the Teepee Curios souvenir shop, the Trinity Baptist Church, and the La Cita Mexican Food restaurant, the Rte 66 Motel, Love's Travel Shop, and Tucumcari Mountain.
The amenities are concentrated in the north and east sides of town.
The connects Tucumcari to the rest of the state, running toward Santa Rosa and Albuquerque to the west and Amarillo, Texas to the east. Two main roads run through the city: the former (Interstate 40 Bus.) and a north–south road (NM 104 and NM 109 in real life).
