ETS2 features an XP and leveling system which allows your character to develop and improve skills as you progress through the game and complete deliveries. Most of the skills allow you to unlock more lucrative job offers.
XP is earned by completing jobs, and can be spent via skill points which are earned when you reach a new level. The skills you can gain and improve are listed below.
ADR
- The Transportation of dangerous goods demands well-trained professionals. Use your hard-earned experience to acquire ADR certificates and substantially increase your income.
- Unlike others skills, this skill isn't progression based. you can unlock Class 6 right away and then Class 1. investing XP in those skills will unlock you new loads that you can transport. These loads are very profitable and is very helpful at making money early in the game.
- Class 1 - Explosives:Such as Dynamite
- Class 2 - Gases
- Class 3 - Flammable Liquids
- Class 4 - Flammable Solids
- Class 5 - Toxic and Infectious substances
- Class 6 - Corrosive Substances
Long Distance
- Your Long Distance skill determines the maximum distance you can travel on duty. Initially you are offered to drive no more than 400km (248mi).
- A great skill to have as it increases the range of your missions, which in turn allow you to get more profitable missions (as you are paid by the distance) furthermore it grants you additional rewards the further the drive is and rewards bonus experience as well.

- Increases delivery limit to 350km (217mi)
- +5% reward for deliveries over 250km (155mi)
- +25% XP bonus for deliveries over 250km (155mi)
Rank 2
- Increases delivery limit to 550km (341mi)
- +10% reward for deliveries over 350km (217mi)
Rank 3
- Increases delivery distance limit to 850km (528mi)
- +15% reward for deliveries over 550km (341mi)
Rank 4
- Increases delivery distance limit to 1,100 (683mi)
- +20% reward for deliveries over 850km (528mi)
Rank 5
- Increases delivery distance limit to 1,500km (932mi)
- +25% reward for deliveries over 1,100km (683mi)
Rank 6
- Removed delivery distance limit allowing deliveries all across Europe
- +30% reward for deliveries over 1,500km (932mi)
High Value Cargo
- All cargo is valuable but some loads are more valuable than others. Companes trust only proven experts to carry out these kind of deliveries.
- The High Value cargo skill grants you access to new types of cargo which can be very profitable.
- While initially less profitable than ADR, High-Value cargo gives a +18% experience bonus to help you level up the skill faster. At high ranks the proftability of high-value cargo usually outweighs the profitability of ADR transportations.

- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 10%

Rank 5
- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 25%
Rank 6
- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 30%
Fragile Cargo
- This skill alows you to transport fragile cargo, such as glass, electronics, or delicate machinery.
Rank 1
- Nearly identical to High Value Cargo, the only difference is more XP bonus. The cargo is fragile and you get a harder time for any damage caused to it. In short: A bit more XP for a bit more challenge.
- Unlockes fragile cargo type mission which offer better payment than standard cargo
- +22% experience bonus for fragile cargo missions.
- +5% reward bonus

- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 10%
Rank 3
- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 15%
Rank DJ-Erwin
Rank 5
- Additional +5% reward bonus, amounting to a total reward bonus of 25%

Just-in-time Delivery
- Sometimes companies need to deliver something important quickly, so they for a just-in-time job. Such work puts more stress on the driver, the delivery window is tighter but the compensation eases your level of discomfort.
- In a similar fashion to the change from High-Value skill to the Fragile skill, the Just-in-time deliveries give you more XP bonus, for a bigger challenge. This time the challenge is the small delivery time you have so you need to drive faster, avoid fuel refills and rest breaks, and ensure you take the fastest route.
- JIT deliveries are broken down to two categories, Important deliveries which dont cut the ETA too much and but dont give as much reward. and urgent deliveries which have a short ETA but give more XP.

- Important Deliveries type missions unlocked. Good paying missions that have a narrow window of delivery.
- +3% reward for finishing an important delivery
- +20% experience for finishing an important delivery
Rank 2
- +3% increase in reward for finishing an important delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 6%
- +10% reward for finishing an urgent delivery
- +30% experience for finishing an urgent delivery
Rank 3
- +3% increase in reward for finishing an important delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 9%
- +5% increase in reward for finishing an urgent delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 15%
Rank 4
- +3% increase in reward for finishing an important delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 12%
- +5% increase in reward for finishing an urgent delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 20%
Rank 5
- +3% increase in reward for finishing an important delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 15%
- +5% increase in reward for finishing an urgent delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 25%
Rank 6
- +3% increase in reward for finishing an important delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 18%
- +5% increase in reward for finishing an urgent delivery, amounting to a total reward bonus of 30%
Ecodriving
- Improved Ecodriving skill will help you minimize your fuel consumption.
- This skill decreases fuel consumption allowing you to save money and time by not having to refuel often. However, the money saved is insignificant compared to the money you gain from the other skills. For this reason, skill points should be put into ecodriving last.
