"UFO enthusiasts and skeptics alike will celebrate and remember this year's 70th anniversary of the 1947 incident that many people believe involved an extraterrestrial spaceship crash-landing on a ranch in the Roswell area. This event led to many conspiracy theories and belief in the existence of flying saucers which persist until today." |
Roswell is a city featured in the New Mexico map expansion DLC for American Truck Simulator. The city first appeared on the blog post of 4 July 2017.[1]
Landmarks[]
Roswell is most known for the Roswell UFO incident, where a "flying disc" crashed near the city in 1947. Many conspiracy theorists speculated that alien spacecraft had landed in the city. There are many references to this incident throughout the city including a giant inflated alien and how the streetlights have alien eyes. This incident is also why there are several landmarks about it on Main Street, including many souvenir shops like the 3rd Rock from the Sun souvenir shop and the Alien Zone gift shop and the International UFO Museum And Research Center.
Apart from that, other in-game landmarks in Roswell are the city’s two high-rises, 500 North Main Street and Penn Plaza, the Stardust Antiques antique store, the New Mexico Military Institute, the Chaves County courthouse, and the Roswell Pioneer Plaza.
Features[]
There are five depots in Roswell, Sunshine Crops on the west end of town, Bitumen and Sell Goods just west of the city center, Global Mills to the south, and Wallbert on the north side. On Main Street (US 285), there is a motel, a gas station, and a garage. In the city center is a recruitment agency and just west of that, on the US 380, is a service shop.
In addition, a viewpoint is located in the center of the city.
