The Renault Trucks T-Range is a truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2 manufactured by the French truck manufacturer Renault Trucks.

It was first teased on a blog post back on January 2016.[1] According to an official livestream by SCS Software in December 20, 2018,[2] it was mostly finished at the time, but approving the model took a lot of time because there are several owners and right-holders involved. It was added to the game on September 26, 2019 during the 1.35 update.[3]

On March 23, 2021, Renault announced an "evolution" to the T model, and authorized a rendering in Euro Truck Simulator 2 prior to the new model's real-life release.[4] The T Evolution series was released on April 6, 2021 during the 1.40 update and it was an update to the Renault T.[5] It is the first time in the history of Euro Truck Simulator 2 to make a partnership with a manufacturer to be added to the game before its real-life release.

Release History[]

  • 25 January 2016: Truck Licensing Situation Update blog post reveals the Renault T. [1]
  • 20 December 2018: SCS announced on their livestream that the truck is in very advanced licensing stages and that it will come in 2019.
  • 11 February 2019: SCS Software posted, on their Instagram story, a picture of an SCS crew attending to record sounds for the Renault T.
  • 17 September 2019: SCS posted a mystery video on their social medias, that the background sound of the video, hear a truck engine sound, but precisely Euro 6 DTI 11, engine that the Renault T use.[6]
  • 20 September 2019: SCS Community Manager Carthoo, posted on the SCS forum, an image of a truck inside a dark garage, whose silhouette closely resembles the Renault T.[7]
  • 21 September 2019: SCS posted on their social medias, an image talking about the teaser posted by Carthoo on forum.[8]
  • 23 September 2019: Renault Trucks' official twitter account gave a retweet on the SCS tweet of the mysterious video saying: "Is something going on at @SCSsoftware? Looks pretty smoky down there"[9] and SCS answered this same tweet saying: "We are about to set fire to the internet with some incredible news @RenaultTrucksCo #ets2Tparty on Thursday".[10]
  • 24 September 2019: Renault Trucks' and SCS' social media accounts, posted at the same time, a video of a truck inside a dark garage, whose silhouette closely resembles the Renault T.[11] [12]
  • 25 September 2019: Renault Trucks' and SCS' social media accounts, posted at the same time during the day, videos showing parts of the Renault T.[13] [14] [15] [16]
  • 26 September 2019: The Renault T is released along with a trailer video.[3]

Since the release of the truck, new contents have been added into the truck for free in the game updates (not including the tuning packs).

  • 23 March 2021: Renault Trucks announced on their social media accounts, that their Trucks (Long Distance T-Range, Short Distance C-Range and the offroad-focused K-Range) would receive an "Evolution" in 2021, and the new T-model's first release will be in Euro Truck Simulator 2, on the 6th April, 2021.[4] [17] [18]
  • 29 March 2021: Blog post confirmed the addition of Renault T Evolution on the 6th April, 2021 together with a game update that added the truck hidden under a red cover on front of all Renault dealership in the game + a promotional social media event to celebrate the arrival of the truck.[19] [20]
  • 6 April 2021: Renault T & T High: Evolution is released along with a trailer video.[5]
  • 8 July 2021: Renault Trucks Evolution is released in real-life.
