"Located in Shasta County, California, the city of Redding is best known for its numerous attractions, landmarks, industries and world-renown outdoor surroundings. Founded in 1844 by European settlers, it has a rich history of culture and was even a major hub for mining during the gold rush. But this city still has plenty of gems remaining..."

Redding is a city in Northern California. It is featured in the base game of American Truck Simulator.

Redding was completely reworked in update 1.44 as part of the second phase of the California rework.

Landmarks[]

Features[]

Redding is separated into four parts:

The southern part features a Bushnell Farms cattle auction, a Coastline Mining depot, a Deepgrove sawmill, a large Drake Car Dealer, an HMS Machinery warehouse, a Home Store market, a Sell Goods warehouse, a Wallbert warehouse, a garage, a recruitment agency, and a truck stop with a Gallon Oil unloading point.

The northwestern part features a USBB factory, a Freightliner truck dealer, and a gas station.

The northeastern part features a big Wallbert food market.

The western part contains Downtown Redding but has no features.

In addition, there are a Bushnell Farms farm, three truck stops, and a weigh station in or near Corning south of Redding and a Deepgrove timber harvest site northeast of Redding.

Connections[]

Redding is located on the junctions of four routes:

In addition, the USCA97 runs from I-5 in Weed north of Redding to Klamath Falls and Bend, Oregon to the north.

History[]

  • In update 1.5, as part of the 1:35 to 1:20 map rescale, Interstate 5's TOTSO was removed as its route was straightened. Churn Creek Road was truncated from the cloverleaf interchange to Hartnell Avenue, as Interstate 5 intersected there with a new freeway section of SR 299, which began at an at-grade three-way junction with Market Street and ended east of a new diamond interchange with Victor Avenue. From there, SR 299 headed east towards Nevada on the previous route of US 395. The previous section of SR 299 in Redding was redesignated as SR 44, along which a western part of the city containing Downtown Redding with a rest area was added on Market Street.
  • In update 1.35, SR 299 east of the at-grade three-way junction with Market Street was redesignated as SR 44, as the junction became an at-grade four-way junction and SR 299 was moved to a new section of Market Street and Lake Boulevard, along which a northwestern part of the city was added and of which on the former road a garage was added and on the latter road a diamond interchange with Interstate 5. East of Interstate 5, SR 299 headed east to Alturas, passing a new Deepgrove timber harvest site. The previous section of SR 44 was undesignated.

Trivia[]

  • Before 1.35 release, in the blog post from SCS called New Road Connections[2], it was quoted that a Truck Dealer would be added, but at the final launch of the update, no dealership was added. It was finally added in 1.44.
