"Norway has a total area of 385,252 square km. It is one of the oldest kingdoms and also one of the largest producers of oil and natural gas. Its capital Oslo is the fastest growing major city in Europe. Norway has 72,033 km of paved roads and 664 km of motorways."
— Official Euro Truck Simulator 2 Website

Norway (Norwegian: Norge (bokmål); Noreg (nynorsk)) is a country in Northern Europe, featured in the Scandinavia and Nordic Horizons DLCs for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

The country is bordered by Sweden to the east, Finland and Russia to the northeast, and the Skagerrak strait to the south, with Denmark on the other side.

In preparation for the Nordic Horizons map expansion DLC, the country had been reskinned in update 1.57, as part of the 'Scandinavia Refresh' project.

Accessible Cities[]

There are 4 (four) cities in Norway featured in the Scandinavia DLC. Another 15 (fifteen) cities in Norway is featured in the Nordic Horizons DLC, making it into 19 (nineteen) cities in total. 4 (four) of them offering ferry routes to neighboring countries.

Roads[]

Norwegian roads are one of the most unique in Europe. The roads run next to the fjords, mountains, valleys and exceptional coastlines, trough many tunnels and bridges. They might get narrow and you can expect many steep climbs. The roads might also be connected by ferries. Norway has almost no highways, mostly only secondary roads, although there are some around Oslo. Generally, Norway provides very beatiful and scenic, but challenging, roads.

There are 3 types of main roads in Norway which include:

  • Norway, Switzerland, Russia, Türkiye, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia and United Kingdom are the only countries in Euro Truck Simulator 2 not members of the European Union.
  • Until the release of the Nordic Horizons expansion, it was the only country in the game whom all of its cities were connected by ferry routes. In fact, since all Norwegian cities have connections to either Hirtshals or Frederikshavn (which are themselves close to each other), it's faster for trucks to jump across Norwegian cities using these ferry routes. However, it costs more in-game time and in-game money than simply driving between the Norwegian cities.
  • Norway, alongside Denmark and Sweden, are the only countries that require the usage of headlights during daytime.
  • Until the release of the Beyond the Baltic Sea expansion, the Scandinavian countries were the only countries, DLC or not, in which night didn't actually exist - it was instead a perpetual dusk/dawn around midnight. It was then joined by Finland after that DLC released.
