Louisiana is a state of the United States, which is featured in the 18 Wheels of Steel series & will be featured in American Truck Simulator as a map expansion DLC.
The state is bordered by Texas to the west, Arkansas to the north, Mississippi to the east, and the Gulf of Mexico to the south.

- 29 September 2024: SCS Software posted a teaser about a new state on their social media accounts under the name, "Next American Journey".[1] The post strongly hints towards Louisiana as the new state.
- 10 October 2024: A blog post to officially confirm that Louisiana will be the next state after Missouri & Iowa with a few new screenshots[2], alongside the release of its Steam Store Page.[3]
- 2 January 2025: A blog post about the team behind Louisiana.[4]

Status[]
Lake Charles and Shreveport are used as control cities on signs in eastern Texas, respectively east of Dallas and in Beaumont. Shreveport is also used on road signs in Texarkana, Arkansas.

- As per ATS' 2025 video trailer release, there are eleven cities known to be featured in the Louisiana map expansion.
- Cities which are also in the 18 Wheels of Steel series are marked with " * ".
- Note: Baton Rouge is marked in italic since it is the state capital of Louisiana.

Visible on Road Signs[]
Five cities of Louisiana can be seen on road signs of the Texas DLC:
- Lake Charles
- Leesville
- Mansfield
- Shreveport
- Newton*
*It is likely that Newton could be the location in Texas along US 190. The road continues to DeRidder, which is well into Louisiana. The presence of this location confirms US 190 will be extended from Jasper.
