Kenworth is an American truck manufacturer featured in American Truck Simulator, and in the 18 Wheels of Steel under the name Kinetic. Kenworth manufactures a variety of trucks in America and Australia, ranging from the C-Series cement mixer to the monster T909 that is used in Australia as the powerhouse for road trains.

There are currently two models in ATS (one of them has two different models), the T680 (and its Next Gen facelift model) and the W900. The W900 is the most popular out of the two, judging from online events. Although the T680 is cheaper, the W900 is faster, has more customizable options, and has engine choices which offer higher horsepower.

The headquarters of the Kenworth company is located in Renton, Washington. Kenworth shares their headquarters with engine manufacturer Paccar, which also owns Peterbilt in American Truck Simulator and DAF in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

On August 3, 2023, the W900 Tuning Pack DLC for American Truck Simulator has been released. It adds many new customization for the W900.

Kenworth T680 Classic

• 17 June 2015: SCS Software released the teaser for ATS, in the video, the T680 and the W900 makes their appearance.
• 2 February 2016: The Kenworth T680 is released along with the launch of the game.

Kenworth W900

• 17 June 2015: SCS Software released the teaser for ATS, in the video, the T680 and the W900 makes their appearance.
• 15 February 2016: The Kenworth W900 is released along with a trailer video.
• 2 March 2023: The fully reworked Kenworth W900, along with its 100th Anniversary Limited Edition is released along with a trailer video.
• 22 April 2025: The Kenworth W900 Legacy Edition is released along with a trailer video.

Kenworth T680 Next Gen

• 29 December 2022: SCS Software confirms that they are working on the new Kenworth T680 model after visiting the PACCAR Technical Center in the state of Washington and that the project is still in the very early stages of development.
• 18 December 2023:
  • 16:09 CET: SCS Software announced on their social media that on the 18th December, they will have a stream about the Kenworth T680 Next Gen Signature Edition together with special guest.
  • 18:00 CET: SCS Software makes a special livestream about the new Kenworth T680 Next Gen Signature Edition.
• 19 December 2023: The new Kenworth T680 Next Gen Signature Edition is released along with a trailer video.
