Italy (Italian: Italia) is a country in Southern Europe, featured in Euro Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
It is located to the south of the map, and consists of 5 different cities, all of which are in northern Italy, featured in the initial Euro Truck Simulator 2. Italy was expanded with 22 new cities in the Italia DLC, released on 5 December 2017, fills up most of the country.
The country is bordered by France to the northwest, Austria and Switzerland to the north and Slovenia to the northeast. In real life, it also shares borders with the enclaved microstates of Vatican City and San Marino.
The base game part of Italy was reworked in the update 1.30.
Accessible Cities[]
Milano and Roma are featured in Euro Truck Simulator.
In Euro Truck Simulator 2, Roma is omitted in the base game, but the cities of Torino and Verona were introduced along with the returning of Milano. Further east, Venezia was added in update 1.11. Even further east, Trieste was added in the update 1.48.5.
The Italia DLC brings back the capital city of Roma along with 21 others to Italy (18 cities in the initial release, 3 cities in Sardinia (Sardegna) were added in the update 1.35).

- Italy, along with France and Poland, is one of very few countries in which almost all of the motorways are paid for by toll. Norway would count, but the tolls are only paid at a fixed price, not at a distance-dependent price.
- During development of Euro Truck Simulator 2, Italy was supposed to have Bologna, Ancona, Genova and Roma, but due to time constraints they were cut, until the announcement for its expansion.
- Prior to Euro Truck Simulator 2: Italia DLC, Italy was the only country not to have an accessible capital.
- This was also the case of Poland prior to Going East!, omitting Warsaw. In the Beyond the Baltic Sea expansion, Russia was added without its capital Moscow prior to its announcement for its expansion in March 2021. With the introduction of Euro Truck Simulator 2: Road to the Black Sea, Türkiye is another country without its capital, Ankara.
- It is most likely that Brindisi will be added with compatiblity of Greece DLC. It has ferry connections to Patras and Igoumenitsa. It is the second city to be added after Trieste.
- Some roads Leading to torino from Switzerland And france have been reworked on 1.50 update
