Interstate 84 (I-84) is an east–west Interstate Highway in northern Oregon, southern Idaho, and northern Utah in American Truck Simulator. It runs from Interstate 5 and US 30 in Portland to Interstate 80 and US 189 east of Salt Lake City, near the Wyoming state line. For a part, the highway follows the Columbia River and the Washington state line in Oregon.
Course[]
Interstate 84 in ATS begins in Portland, where it splits from Interstate 5. Proceeding east, I-84 follows the railroad through Graham Gulch until it meets Interstate 205 for half a mile before splitting off and heading to Troutdale. The I-205 continues north to Vancouver. Leaving Troutdale, I-84 follows the Columbia River through its gorge to The Dalles on the south bank, passing through a weigh station just east of Troutdale. After leaving The Dalles, I-84 continues to follow the Columbia past John Day Dam to Biggs Junction, where it intersects with US 97. After crossing over Willow Lake, I-84 comes over a rise and enters the Umatilla Valley at a rest area on the south side of the freeway. A mile further, the 84 intersects with Interstate 82, which heads north to Pasco, Kennewick, Yakima, and Seattle via Interstate 90. After passing the junction, I-84 enters Pendleton, where it splits with US 395, which heads south to Burns. I-84 then splits from the Columbia and climbs Cabbage Hill to Kamela Summit 4,193 feet above sea level. Descending the other side, I-84 passes through a weigh station outside of La Grande before climbing over Mount Telocaset to Baker City, Oregon. After leaving Baker City, I-84 enters Encina Pass, passing the Lafarge Cement Plant at Nelson, which is owned by Coastline Mining in the game. After leaving the cement plant, I-84 crosses the 45th Parallel and enters the Mountain Standard Time zone; this point also marks the entrance to the Malheur Valley, and the Snake River appears from the north and follows I-84 all the way to Ontario, where I-84 splits from US 30 for 5 miles before entering Idaho, and where US 20 joins the highway.
I-84 enters Idaho after crossing over the Snake River. Before Idaho, the freeway ended here at Exit 3 in Fruitland, where I-84 joins US 95 which goes north to Payette and Lewiston and south to McDermitt and Winnemucca in Nevada. Leaving Ontario and Fruitland, I-84 goes around a bend and enters the Treasure Valley, passing through Nampa, Meridian, and Idaho's capital Boise before passing through the foothills at Blacks Creek and passing a rest area. Leaving the Treasure Valley, I-84 enters Elmore County and the Snake River Plain, and passes through Mountain Home, where US 20 breaks away and heads east to Sun Valley, and intersects with ID-51, which heads south to Elko via Owyhee. Leaving Mountain Home, I-84 passes though a brief area by the Snake River, which is where Glenns Ferry and the rest area in Bliss would be before passing Exit 173, where it intersects with US 93 and the entrance to Twin Falls. Leaving Twin Falls, I-84 passes through the Kasota Hills before descending into the Mini Cassia Valley where it crosses the Snake for the last time before turning south at Declo Junction, where it intersects with Interstate 86, which heads east to Pocatello and Interstate 15, and all points north. After coming out of the interchange, I-84 passes through the Cotterel Port of Entry before climbing to 5,530 feet at Sweetzer Pass. I-84 crosses into Ornida county for 5 miles before passing through the Juniper rest area and crossing into Utah.
In Utah, I-84 passes through farmland before entering the junction town of Tremonton at Exit 40, where it meets up with Interstate 15 for the final 30 miles to Ogden. Leaving Tremonton, I-84 passes through Brigham City and the weigh station at Perry before I-84 splits from I-15 at Riverdale Road in Ogden. After passing through Ogden, I-84 enters Weber Canyon and passes by the power plant and many landmarks of the Transcontinental Railroad, including Devil's Slide and the Thousand Mile Tree, before I-84 comes to its end at Interstate 80 in Echo.
