International Trucks is an American truck manufacturer featured in American Truck Simulator. Created in 1986 as the successor to International Harvester, Navistar operates as the owner of International brand of trucks and diesel engines, the company also produces military vehicles through its Navistar Defense subsidiary along with bus production through IC Bus. Currently, Traton SE (formerly Volkswagen Truck and Bus) is the largest stakeholder of Navistar, owning 17% of the company.
International Trucks was the next truck brand featured after Volvo and before Mack.[1] The International LoneStar was added to the game on December 12, 2019, along with the 1.36 update, the International LT was added to the game on September 1, 2021, along with the 1.41 update and the International 9900i was added to the game on March 22, 2022, along with the 1.43 update.
It was firstly featured in the 18 Wheels of Steel series under the fictional name Intrepid, because SCS Software didn't have the license.
The headquarters of International Trucks are located in Lisle, Illinois.

International LoneStar[]
- 25 January 2016: In a blog post about licensing issues, SCS Software showed a picture of the International LoneStar model.[1]
- 3 July 2018: SCS Software Twitter: SCS CEO Pavel Šebor was visiting the parent company of International.[2]
- 12 August 2018: Polish YouTuber Wujek Bohun interviews SCS Programmer Eryk Dwornicki, who reveals that the next truck for American Truck Simulator will be International.[3]
- 13 September 2018: SCS Community Manager Carthoo shows off a CAD drawing of the Lonestar on SCS forum.[4]
- 3 November 2018: After a quick escalation between Volvo Trucks North America and SCS Software, the Volvo VNL (older model) will arrive before the LoneStar, within a month.
- 5 November 2018: The Volvo VNL was officially released.
- 20 December 2018: During a livestream, SCS confirms that two trucks (assumed to be the International Lonestar and the Freightliner Cascadia) will arrive in 2019.
- 4 February 2019: SCS Software officially reveals the LoneStar, with another CAD of the International LoneStar truck in a livestream to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of American Truck Simulator, claiming that it will arrive soon and Also a video of the progress, including interior and cab CAD progress.[5]
- 10 May 2019: A truck dealer can be found under construction in Redding as of version 1.35.
- 10 October 2019: 1.36 Open Beta is released and International dealerships were added in Santa Cruz, Flagstaff, Alamogordo, Salem, and Bellingham.
- 7 November 2019: With Utah DLC released, Provo is one of the cities that also has an International dealership.
- 25 November 2019: SCS Software teases the International LoneStar in a short video.[6]
- 27 November 2019: SCS Software teases the International LoneStar in Instagram Stories.[7]
- 4 December 2019: SCS Software share a short video on their twitter account showing the interior of the International LoneStar.[8]

International LT[]
- 26 August 2021: In the Wyoming trailer, an International LT can be seen towards the end of the trailer.[13]
- 1 September 2021: International LT is released along with a trailer video.[14]
- 19 December 2023: SCS Software makes a special Christmas livestream, there, they also show a brief picture of the International LT with S13 Integrated powertrains.
- 9 April 2024: A blog post announcing the major rework for the LT, including new new shorter chassis for the Day Cab, new S13 Integrated Powertrains and new accessories. All of which will be a part of the 1.50 update.
International 9900i[]
- 16 December 2021: In the SCS Christmas Stream, the team reveals an image about a mysterious future truck for ATS, with similarities to International 9900i. Pavel said that the truck is at an advanced stage of development and the people won’t have to wait much time for its release and it's something for 2022 for sure.[15]
- 20 March 2022: SCS Software teases the International 9900i in a image on social media accounts.[16]
- 21 March 2022: SCS Software announced on their social medias that on 22 March 2022, will have a Stream for reveal the new truck.[17]
