"Eureka is a city with an incredibly rich history, with its founding dating back all the way to 1850. While bits and pieces of history are noticeable at almost every corner, there is hardly a better representation than the local Victorian homes." |

- In update 1.31, the diamond interchange of US 101 and SR 299 in Arcata was changed to a trumpet interchange.
- In update 1.41, as part of the first phase of the California rework, the at-grade three-way junction of SR 299 and North Road in Arcata was changed to an at-grade four-way junction as Blue Lake was removed and the Darchelle Uzau vineyard there was moved to a new extension of North Road. The GP gas station was replaced by a Gallon Oil gas station with an unloading point on North Road. SR 299 was widened to four lanes and the surrounding area reworked.
- In update 1.44, as part of the second phase of the California rework, Eureka was completely reworked. All roads and junctions outside Arcata were rebuilt, and Samoa and SR 255 connecting it with Eureka were removed, while North Road was renamed Myrtle Avenue south of SR 299 and Fieldbrook Road north of SR 299. All depots were removed and a Deepgrove sawmill, a small Drake Car Dealer, a Plaster & Sons warehouse, and a big Wallbert food market were added in the city proper, as well as a Deepgrove timber harvest site north of Arcata and a Plaster & Sons house construction site east of Eureka along with connecting minor roads. The rest area in the city proper was removed, and the Gallon Oil gas station and the rest area in Arcata were replaced by a Chemron gas station with a rest area, and a service shop.
