The DAF XD is a regional-haul truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2 manufactured by the Dutch truck manufacturer DAF. It was added to the on the 21^st November, 2023, alongside update 1.48.5.

On the 17 ^th September, 2024, alongside update 1.51, The XD gets a slight rework, including new models and updated textures, new interior, a new paint job combo and sets of new accessories.

Release History[]

26 October 2023: SCS Software teases the DAF XD on their social media accounts.^{^[1]}
20 November 2023: SCS Software announced on their social medias that on 21 November 2023, they will have a stream about the DAF XD with special guest.^{^[2]}
21 November 2023:
- 18:00 CEST: SCS Software makes a stream about the DAF XD.^{^[3]}
- 19:00 CEST: The DAF XD is released along with a trailer video.^{^[4]}

Since the release of the truck, new contents have been added into it for free in the game updates.

17 September 2024: Update 1.51 gets the NGD (XD) an exterior and interior rework with new models and updated textures, a new paint job combo and sets of new accessories. A blog post in the exact date announced these additions.^{^[5]}

The XD is the first regional-haul truck in ETS2 history and also the first one to have a Day Cab with rear view window as an option.
In real-life, the XD were voted for (and won) 'The International Truck of the Year 2023'. To represent it, the XD for ETS2 features the special ITOY 2023 front and side badges.
As of the 15^th November, 2024, a 2025 DAF XDc 450 FTT High Roof Sleeper is featured as a Truck Header for the Greece map expansion.^{^[6]}
