The Autostrada A23 (known as Autostrada Alpe–Adria in real-life) is the easternmost Italian highway featured in Euro Truck Simulator (ETS 1) and Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2). However, its presence in ETS 2 was later than other Italian highways, because it's the version 1.11 (code-named Road to Venice) which brought the A23 into the game.
The A23 serves as the connection between Italy and Austria proper, especially in Euro Truck Simulator 2, where the A23 forms the main route between Italy and most Austrian cities (except Innsbruck).
No accessible city is situated along the A23. Venezia in Italy and Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Austria are the two cities closest to the Autostrada.
Much of the A23 is tolled along with the easternmost section of Autostrada A4. The fee for a trucker to go through this section is €16.
