- For other European roads numbered A16, see A16 (disambiguation).
The Autosnelweg A16 is a highway in Netherlands. The highway connects Rotterdam with the Belgium border. The road is an important and busy link between Netherlands and Belgium/France.
The road is first featured in the original Euro Truck Simulator. Because of the simplicity of that game's map, the entire road between the Dutch-Belgian border and Amsterdam is designated as A16, meaning that the road in-game is twice as long as in real-life.
In the subsequent game, Euro Truck Simulator 2, the A16 replica is more realistic, with the iconic Moerdijk Bridge added, and the road itself only running to Rotterdam. The speed limit of the road for trucks is also reduced from 90 km/h to 80 km/h.
Both incarnations of the A16 Rijksweg do not have any intermediate junctions.
